Bio:

Aubrie plays mom to the cutest demon topside. When she isn’t writing she is daydreaming about hot brooding anti-heroes and sassy heroines.cropped-16864786_10154548944067779_8225351965549495731_n.jpg She loves Dragon Age, Game of Thrones and reading all things fantasy. She runs a local YA/NA bookclub with 3 chapters, and over 200 members. If she could have dinner with anyone living or dead it would be Alan Rickman because his voice is the sexiest sound on earth. He could read the dictionary and she would be enthralled. Her current mission in life is to collect creepy taxidermy animals because she finds them cute and hilarious. She resides just outside of Washington DC.

Get to know me:

Where are you from?

I am from Utah. But I have spent time in Arizona, Texas and Maryland.

What is your greatest inspiration?

Failure is the most motivating and inspirational thing I can think of. If we never failed, there would be no reason for us to aim for the stars.

What is your biggest regret?

Not appreciating my education more while growing up. I wasn’t a straight A student, or even a B student. Not because I couldn’t be. But because I just didn’t care. I wish I would have cared even just a little bit.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Don’t judge me…but I obsessively watch Keeping up with the Kardashians.

What are your hobbies? (other than writing)

I LOVE reading and playing video games. My favorite video game has got to be Bioware’s Dragon Age. Its soooo good! I have played through each game multiple times. I also collect small elephant statues. My grandpa had a huge collection before he died. I sort of carried on the tradition.

What are some of your quirks?

Ohhh.. I am a huge weirdo, so I have a lot! Haha One that stands out the most is my expressions. I can’t go anywhere or meet anyone without people laughing at me different expressions. I have “resting disgust face” So I get a lot of  ‘Are you okay?’ Yes, I am fine. Its just my face. And when I get really excited I make the dumbest face too. People always point and laugh and say ‘Look at her face!’ I wish I was kidding. Another quirk is I collect bones. I am OBSESSED with bones, skulls and creepy taxidermy. I live for the weird. Also, I HATE HATE HATE Dolls. I freaking hate them.

What is your go-to Starbucks drink?

I have two, actually. The Strawberry Acai Refresher and an Iced Chai Latte. #omnomnom

If someone interrupts you, how do you handle the situation?

Like I said above, my face…it just can’t lie. If someone interrupts me face my face gets all inturupty-annoyed, and I keep it like that until I realize what I have done and try to fix it.  I heard this quote once, it was like: “My mouth I can control, its my face that needs deliverance.” That quote is my life.

What song(s) pump you up and get you in the ‘sit down and type your heart out’ mood? Do you continue to listen to music while you write?

I listen to a lot of creepy, dramatic music. Like Evenesance, Halsey, Lorde, Florence and the Machine, Sia etc…. I also LOVE Celtic Woman and Irish pub music. I listen to music on full blast when I write, I need it!

The author who has most influenced you?

Easy. Sarah J. Maas

If you could be any fictional character who would you be and why?

Oohhh…I love this one. My gut reaction would be to say Feyre from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, just so I could have me some Rhysand. However, the more I think about it the more I want to say Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

If you could co-write with anyone, who would it be, and why?

Ahh! There are so many talented, amazing author out there it would be hard to pick just one. But I would have to say Danielle Paige. Not only does Danielle have a sparkling personality, but her books are some of my absolute favorites! So Danielle, if you are reading this hit me up!

If you could be best friends with a fictional character who would it be with? Why?

Legolas from Lord of the Rings (the movies not the books) because A. Orlando Bloom and B. He is subtly funny, which is my favorite type of humor.
